Hi,

I am interested in learning to dive and have enrolled on a trial day at a local leisure centre. Should I enjoy it can someone please advise me whether BSAC or PADI are the best to learn with. I am completely bamboozled by all the information on the subject and would be grateful if you can give me the pro's, con's and approximate prices of learn to dive courses of each organisation.

Thank you.

Hi, Depending on what you have planned is quite relevant to who you train with. If your looking to get certified and will probably only dive whilst on your hols I think the PADI Open water course will be well suited. Once your qualified with PADI you will be able to dive anywhere in the world and can continue your education if you find that your enjoying diving. It's still advised to dive under the supervision of a professional who will be able to lead you on dives and show you the fun stuff and keep you safe. I think the main diffs between PADI and BSAC are PADI runs more straight forward structured course where as BSAC is more involved and detailed for the diver who really wants to immerse him/herself into the diving world ! Both organisations train their divers to a good standard with the emphasis on safety and obviously enjoyment. Hope this helps.
