Bottom formation: With a 120 meters shipwreck at one end, a dramatic drop-off reef at the other, and rich sand slopes and a bank reef in between, this bay can keep a diver happy for weeks.The wreck of the Liberty lies parallel to shore on a steep sand slope and good growth of encrusting animals on it. Part of the superstructure is within snorkeling distance from the suface. The wall just off the eastern end of the beach. The rocky knoll southeast of town plunges straight down into the sea, and coral grows a long its face. It has a nice overhang around, and drops to a sand bottom at just over 60 meters.

Type of dive: Shore and 10 minutes by boat for Batu Kelebit site

Visibility: Fair to good, 15-20 meters

Water movement: None or moderate current, but when surf is high here dive entry and exit need to be considered

Marine life: Superb variety, excellent numbers, and this is the field for expert underwater photographers and marine biologists

Diver level: Open water diver

Access: Almost 3 hours from main tourist area; Kuta, Legian, Sanur and Nusa Dua by car

Highlights: Full moon night dive on wreck; pygmy seahorse and ghost pipefish

Other: During midday, wreck can be crowded; wreck is 30 meters offshore; morning and evening dive here every creature in the sea is going to show up
