July 11, 2007 Post subject: Equipment store in London?
Hi! I will soon leave for a 1 week trip to the Red Sea and I need to pick up some basic diving equipment (such as masks, wetsuits, etc) before leaving. The thing is I recently moved to the UK and have no idea where I can find a good store. I'm going to London for the weekend, so if anyone could recommend a good equipment store in central London that would be great!!! Ideally it should have MARES equipment since I'm familiar with it and like their masks, but hey, I'm not picky. As long as they have a large selection of good stuff, I'm happy :)
Using Google I found a place called "Ocean leisure" in central London that sounds promising, but there is no way of telling exactly what the sell from their web page... Does anyone know this place? Is it good?
If you can help I would be very thankful!
/Daniel

I'd recommend that you have a look at the decathlon store next to Canada Water tube.
I got a 7mm semi-dry, mask snorkel, fins all at very good prices (much cheaper than ocean leisure). The wetsuit is brilliant and very toasty for £100
Not any good for regs/computers etc - they have a couple but I wouldnt buy from there...

I'm guessing you've been and gone by now but Ocean on south bank (c.london) is very big so has everything you could possibly need but is certainly not a cheap place - expect to pay RRP or close to. Decathlon on the other hand is often impossibly cheap but of limited choice. They buy limited lines in massive bulk and so stock varies from eek to week/month to month. Its rather hit and miss as to wether you get a bargain or walk away empty handed.
cheers
