Hi Mark im assuming your on about clearence diver for the royal navy. i completed my RN clearence diver course in 2001and it was a bit different then however the aptitude consists of a mile an a half group run followed by a mile an a half induvidual effort in uder 10 half minutes. then to the gym for press ups sit ups and pull ups. after its drysuit on jump of a high board swim a lake then run back to the board for another 3 go's. then diving gear on for a trial dive. its pretty much this for 4 more days with classroom based theory on diving and more phys for good measure, just brush up on fitness and forget padi taught stuff cause military diving is obviously different and it'd be good to start fresh with all the other new recruits, have fun to its a very hard but very rewarding job.

Hi Sparky,
Just wondering whether you could give me a quick brief about the RN MCD aquaint course that you recently attended? I should hopefully be doing this course in a few weeks and any advice would be great.
Can you give me a quick idea of what each day consists of particularly the fitness side of things - tests and times would be great!!
Thank you very much
James
