Hopefully a simple question. Are integrated weights simply detachable pouches that fit on/in to your BCD, into which you put standard dive weights? Or are they special weights as well. I'm thinking of buy a BCD with integrated weights to use on holidays abroad, but if it means lugging 8kg of lead around, I think I'll just hire weight belts wherever I go.

Hi if you go for intergrated weights, think about the extra weight your buddy needs to lift!!, also if you do go that rout buy shot not solid weights, also consider a weight harness this is the best option detachable weight pouches, very comfortable and your buddy does not need to lift it, i use one and would not go back to a conventional belt , when geting into a boat I pass up each weight pouch first, hen the BC, harness stays in place, beaver do a very good one, hope this is of some help PAUL

Yes as in they take standard weights from any overseas dive shop. Much better for your buoyancy and comfort than a belt too, only bettered by a harness with shot
