Hi everybody,

I'm heading over to Tenerife in mid May and I'd like to do some diving out there (I am a recently qualified BSAC Ocean diver)

Does anyone have any recommendations for dive outfits located in the South West of the island just north of Playa de las Americas?

Also, I was thinking of taking mask, fins and booties in my suitcase and hiring everything else out there. Is there anything else I could usefully take with me to save on hiring?

Thanks for your help guys

Hi Chris, I live in Tenerife. Depends where you are staying, there are some really excellent centres and as you can imagine some not so excellent ones. Tenerife Dive Club and Los Gigantes Dive are both BSAC schools, one at either end of the tourist area. You'll be well looked after by either. Best piece of advice? Simply ask the question, do you leave your boat unattended when diving? and if yes is your answer go somewhere else. All you need is yer mask, fins n boots then you can snorkel on yer last day when you can't dive anymore :( Sal

I have recently come back from Tenerife and I used a dive centre call Aqua Marina they are based in las Americas. Their website is . They are a really good group. But contact them before or go or as soon as you get there cause they get booked up pretty quickly.

Have a great time!

Hey guys, thanks very much for leaving ur messages. Back from Tenerife now - took over my DTimer, hood, and gloves and basically went to Puerto Colon in Playa de las americas and looked about till I found a dive shop that I liked the look of. Went with Diversity in the end - nice bunch of guys, had experienced boat handlers who stayed with the boat, carried 02 on board and I got 2 dives done for about 50 including all kit which was pretty fair going. Had a great time, would recommend them to anyone. ChrisL
