February 7, 2008 Hi
The main things with diabetes are to ensure that your sugar control is good, that you have no complications and that you have no unexpected hypo's. You will need a medical from a dive doc (an HSE one if you plan on teaching in the UK), and all these things will be assessed. You should bring along any letters from specialists or your GP regarding your treatment, recent blood results, especially the HbA1c as this is the most useful indicator of your sugar control.
02078064028 for an appt if you can get to London.
Regards
Dr O
