Notes : |
The Carere is a difficult dive and should not be attempted by novices. The Bristol Channel has 4-5 knot tidal current and slack water only lasts 35-40 min. Visibility is nearly always poor, with a layer of murky water at around 15-20m making the wreck site pitch black - torches are a necessity. The wreck has overhanging structure and it is possible to swim in underneath by accident so marker buoys should be used. We strongly recommend that anyone wishing to dive this wreck should contact us for advice Keith Denby Ilfracombe & North Devon SAC 01598 763568 Keith@gratdata.zynet.co.uk
