PLACES TO DIVE UK INLAND DIVES

Lakeside, Grays Thurrock

Alexander Lake, West Thurrock, Grays, RM16 1ZN

A good place to hone skills, Lakeside is 4-7 metres deep, dropping to about 15 in the ‘Black Hole’ at the far end. It has a silt bottom and thus vis can be bad. The Black Hole is very cold and dark so caution is advised.
The lake contains pike and various smaller fish that tend to stay around the sides of the lake and under the pontoon. It also has a taxi, VW Camper Van, and boat to explore.

Blue Lagoon, Bletchley - Milton Keynes Sub-Aqua Club dive regularly at the Blue Lagoon in Bletchley. The Blue Lagoon has a maximum depth of 18 metres. Over the years, the club have sunk many items for divers to explore including two cars (a Capri and a Metro), a bus and a small aircraft. There are also six sunken boats and a pair of concrete pipes to swim through. Other clubs are welcome to dive the Lagoon on Wednesdays (in Summer) and Sundays, but must book in advance.
