PLACES TO DIVE UK INLAND DIVES

Llyn y Fan Fawr , Brecon Beacons

At an altitude of 700 metres and with no easy access this is a rarely dived lake for careful divers. To reach the lake involves a several mile hike with equipment, so good fitness and travelling light is essential. Such a remote location requires planning ahead in case of emergency and there is also the possibility of having to spend the night on the mountain, so be well prepared. The lake has a depth of 20 metres and vis of at least 10 metres. There is not much life to be seen but there are some interesting rock formations at one end.
