Dived here 30th Dec, last dive of the year, hasnt changed much in the last 6 years since we dived here, why is there nothing to see in the sump? its only 36m so good for a nice long nitrox dive, the remains of that Wessex helicopter are now just a mess !! needs taking out and scrapping, how about a London double decker bus in the sump

I got my open water in Stoney Cove. It' not bad, just really busy, and a LOT of novice divers (I've only been there once, but saw some proper comedy). if you stay away from the descent area, you should be ok. Its a pretty good dive site, I like it.

Been up to Stoney for two weekends now. Vis on first weekend was ok, about 3 mtrs, and although busy was manageable. Second week was a different story!! Got landed on by someone not looking down on their decent, was pushed up against the Pub Wall bu dont know how many divers trying to fin through a small gap!! and the vis was down to a mtr. I guess its hit and miss at Stoney for the weekends, maybe weekdays are better??

Sorry for the false start!!!! I am new to Stoney and have made less than a dozen vists there. In general I have found the staff to be very friendly and helpful, but am I alone in saying that I have also experienced olympic standard rudeness from one or two staff members? It's a shame that one or two 'bad apples' can taint what is otherwise a great day out.

I would like to give a big THANK YOU to BARRY BUXTON; he helped me back from the Galleon on the far shelf after my legs ceased up. It was on my third dive of the day; first one with my son Andrew and the following two with Barry who I had only met that day. Shortly after starting our return from the Galleon my knee joints where giving me severe pain making fining very difficult, (due to reoccurring cartilage problem) we surfaced and Barry offered to give me tired diver tow back to the quay. The water was unusually choppy that day, it would have been a very arduous journey on the surface, I suggested we descended and I would hand pull myself along the shelf edge giving my legs a rest. Off we went, it was easier to do than I thought it would be, Barry stayed in my peripheral vision just above to the left. I didnít know at the time but he had his hand on my first stage and was pushing me. That last dive took just over the hour, I surfaced with 50bar but to my horror through extra exertion Barry had only 25bar and ready to swap to his pony. Unfortunately at the time it hadnít occurred to me to call out the rescue boat and I am now very sorry to have put ourselves in danger. Thanks again Barry for assistance beyond the call of duty.
