PLACES TO DIVE UK INLAND DIVES

Gildenburgh, Peterborough

Located near Peterborough, Gildenburgh is a PADI 5 star centre located in a former brickworks. It ranges in depth from 1 metre to 22. In the water there are a number of training platforms and a variety of wrecks, covering many modes of transport. However, vis can be poor when the bottom is disturbed. Topside are all the usual amenities, alongside a kit rental store and servicing shop.

Hi Alan, I'm Susana, I've recently done my AOW course abroad and I'm looking for places to dive here in the UK. I live close to Cambridge. If you are still looking for a dive buddy let me know. Regards Susana

the sad thing about guildy is the neglect over the years it could be so much better , they tried to keep up with stoney cove and failed , the barn is half built , the accomendation is half built the car park and drive in is absolute nightmare

Gildie is now up for sale @ 5 million. Word has it that the owners are trying to sell the land to developers i.e. the Council to build houses! Your diving days @ Gildie are numberred.

I dive hear regularly, once a fortnight. The Viz can be hit and miss, from 10m to an arms lengh! Lots to see in the water from a Lorry to a Jet plane and a double decker plus lots more, ropes if you need them. Getting in and out of the water is easier than Stoney Cove. Apart from diving, be aware, the staff are rude, air station is open when the bloke has time and the shop is over priced. That said, still worth a visit!!

Started my advanced PADI course at Gildi, will never dive there again as it is no more than a kitted out pond, such potential but so little investment !!

I just did my PADI night diver speciality at Gildenburgh. After reading some comments that the staff could be a bit impatient I was somewhat nervous. The staff, Tony and Neil were fantastic. Patient courteous and friendly. I drove to Gildenburgh on a Friday night and would have had to do one more dive on the Saturday night but Tony suggested we do three dives on the night and save me a 200 mile round trip. Cannot speak highly enough of my experience. I would suggest anyone gives this place a go. So much so I have booked onto another course with them in 2 weeks time. Simon
