PLACES TO DIVE UK INLAND DIVES

Dorothea Quarry

With a maximum depth of 108 metres Dorothea can be used for mixed gas diving as well as air diving. There are many ledges and buoys marking various features. There is a tunnel, block houses, a crane, and pinnacles. Whilst rumours continue to circulate Dorothea is still an undeveloped site, good for training but without even a phone nearby.

Sheepboy, thanks for keeping an eye out for Henry's plaque but I think our deep diving friends would probably have seen it either side of Henry's Ridge (The Pinnacles) by now. Let us know if you do find it or hear of its whereabouts though.

Dived the ridge accross Dotty on Saturday form the 57m Tunnel to the pinacles looked every where for the plaque, I guess its either in 90m or gone over the other side

Which plaque was it mate, if it was the one near the bottom of the ladder last year one of the fixings had rusted thru so all we had to re-fix it was a zip tie, I know they dont last for ever

We were diving 'Henry's Ridge' on 26th and 27th November 2011 and were very saddened to see that the memorial plaque to our departed friend Henry Le Coz has disappeared. If it has been taken (it's unlikely in my opinion that it would have fallen from its fixing to the bottom) then what sort of person would do this? If anyone knows anything about it's whereabouts let us know on this forum.

Wouldn't mind trying some dives here, any one give me some info on times and dates when they would be there so I can tag along. I am flying in from Canada end of feb for 3 weeks, want to get some good dives in around north wales, got most gear except weights and tanks, advanced certification. Any one help me? Thanks.

Dived several times, very tricky entry, we kitted up in water. 20m or so going deeper towards engine house. good viz, bit boring though. not sure about access now - used to be small carpark and public footpath but think its gone now.

Once you are there access down to the water is fairly easy probably a 30m scramble down a rough slope, nothing compared with Rhyd-Ddu or Tan-yr Allt, depth is 14m ish vis is usually brilliant,
