If you want simple to use, easy to see and hard wearing, get the Apex Quantum. Superb piece of kit.have a look at the website.Cant fault this computer, and 2 of my dive buddies own them to.Going for about 150 now. With an extra 7 for the cover for the screen.Hope this helps.

hi, ive just got an oceanic veo 250. i wasnt looking for anything too complicated either as technology is not my strong point and i did find the nitrox course tough going at one point with all the sums. this one is great and im finding it really easy to use! im part of the Sal diving club and got mine with a club discount, though i may have go it cheaper online, they went through all the functions and made sure i was happy and i get a free battery change every year for life.

Divingmum,

The suunto vyper is indeed a good computer as a fellow member suggests below.

However, the vyper is about 220, doesn't include software for downloading profiles and if you want to change the battery you have to send it away and spend about 30-40.

The Uwatec Aladdin Prime on the other hand has a better algorithm, software included, and you can replace the batteries yourself for about 10 in five minutes.

For recreational nitrox with standard 32% or 36% mixes you can't go wrong with the Aladdin Prime

A vyper is a brilliant dive computer...simple to use no frills greta for straight air and nitrox dives...if you want exactly the same computer but attached to your cylinder and have some money to spare then a cobra is awesome too!
