Hello, I\'m looking for a start anywhere, doing any work even if it is just charging cylinders! I\'m fresh out of the professional diving academy in Dunoon after 11 weeks training. \
I live in Glasgow and don\'t have a driving license yet , though lessons are underway. But willing to travel non the less!\

Paul, you should probably take off the contact details- not a good idea to splash that round the Internet...
..and to be honest, it's a fairly long shot that any employer is so desperate that he needs to call around to get divers just now- the industry is pretty fucked just now...hundreds, probably thousands of experienced divers have been laid off Offshore worldwide...where do these guys go to pay the mortgage? In the past, they would go overseas, but in the last 20 odd years, many of these markets have fostered local, relatively poor-paid divers...so they go inshore, pushing out the new guys on the job...

My advice is to look around for local companies and visit them, ask them what you would have to do to get work with them, don't turn down any paid work if it looks safe...aquaculture, moorings etc. can be shite pay, but you will be employed as a diver, which will be better than most. Keep your head down, keep working, and pray for another oil boom soon....
