hi guys & gals.. i'm a newbie wanna be diver, looking to book up for my padi within the next week or so. i basically would like to ask if any of you guys can kindly offer some words of confidence for me as im not the brightest bulb in the box, and when i think about diving i get a little nervous as i think i may find it a little difficult to adapt to it, but alot of people tell me its really easy to learn the basics needed to be safe. are they right?

PADI are a good organisation but very commercially orientated. If you feel nervous then do a try-dive first. Most dive organisations PADI, BSAC SSI all do them. BSAC which is club orientated normally train at the rate you want to learn at, not at the rate the school wants to get you qualified, and then onto the next level.
