i really want to get my fiancé a amazing present. he's always wanted to go diving to see the coral and fish so its top of my list. basically my question is, what does he need? where can he do it? cost around £1000 for everything. sounds stupid but is there a age requirement, he's 20

Katie, You won't find any coral much closer to Leicester than the Red Sea! But, just my personal advice, give your fiance a PADI Open Water Diver referral course at a local dive shop. Do the theoretical learning and swimming pool dives on this course, then book a shore-based holiday (for both of you) to somewhere warm, maybe Sharm El Sheik, to complete the required four Open Water Dives and become qualified. You'll both enjoy the holiday and he'll think the coral and fish amazing. You might even want to learn along with him. Could make a fantastic honeymoon trip, providing you're both diving together.

Hi Katie
you can now do all the classroom study for the open water course on the PADI web site. The red sea is a great place to dive however there are some great dives in the uk.
