Hi, this is my first post here so pls bear with me :) I am looking to research possible careers in diving, mainly bc i have spent many years snorkelling (purely for fun) and am a very good swimmer / surfer, and due to some life changes recently am looking to change careers. If anyone could offer me advice on how to best train to become either a dive instructor or commercial diver that d be greatly apprecieated. I will be paying for the training myselkf and working nights to pay for this so all suggestions are welcome, thanks in advance for your Help John :p

Hi
I too decided on a career change into diving. You need to be at least divemaster for guiding or obviously instructor for teaching. It can be fun and it can be draining and the money is NOT GOOD. If you want free diving, some good times and a challenge, research foreign dive centres and get a low paid job in warm clear sees. If you want money you need to set up your own business. Commercial diving can be well paid but the courses are extremely expensive and you will need an engineering related qualification as well as diving. I love my life but I will never be rich. Good luck.
