The recent heatwave has attracted scuba divers from the North East and beyond to take advantage of increased visibility below the surface.

Divers can get up close and personal with an abundance of underwater wildlife with crabs, lobsters and starfish living amongst the variety of shipwrecks and reefs scattered along the seabed.

Rescue diver Paul Compton visits Brown's Bay every year, and says he was shocked at the number of divers who have congregated at the coast in 2013.
