Hi all, first time here. Seems really good site and useful info.

I have just done my padi open water in egypt and I have a few questions if someone could please help and carnt seem to find straight answers.

How often do you have to dive?

When you dive with a buddy who signs your dive log. I only ask this as some places say you have to have dived within 6 months and show your dive log.

I do not have the money to buy equipment just yet but is there any where near the North West to dive and rent equipment and if so what prices am I looking at.

Regards

as often as you want or not as the case may be although some coursed you may want to do will ask for your diver log history.
Your buddy signs and puts his reg. number on the book.
Dont know about the North east as I am south East but you can get good bargains on EBay just remember to add in prices for servicing all gear that you buy.

You dont say where about in the North west but try here.
http://www.thedelph.co.uk/
it is an inland site/Quarry they have a training centre attached so you can build on your current qualification if you wish. When asking how often do you have to dive it depends on why you are asking. If you only dive once a year on holiday then the centre will always want you to do a check out dive because it is so long since your last dive. You could join a BSAC or SAA club, this would allow you to dive as much as you wish as most clubs dive all year round and have basic equipment that you can use whilst buying your own bit by bit, although most do not carry suits , but places like the Delph and Capenwray ( also a flooded quarry close to the Lake district) hire suits. Dont worry that you have a Padi qualification most clubs are very welcoming to divers of other organisations we are all divers and just want to enjoy our brilliant sport.
