Just took a worthwhile trip to the Costa Brava to dive the Medes Islands. They were everything I expected but did more diving outside the marine parks as there's some great coastal diving to be had & very importantly...cheaper since you needn't pay the reserve fees. On dive in particular, the wreck of the Marmolar lying at 40m in really good vis made the trip memorable. Gaye Rosier from Kenna Eco Diving sorted out my trip but there are lots of centers along the coast. I give the area a thumbs up. I opted for the apartment accom but the bunkroom looked ok. I took an introduction to research diving with the Silmar Project group. Gaye runs this & it's good fun & a good cause. Check it out with Gaye's group at www.marine-life-costa-brava.org, good diving & doesn't rip a hole in your pocket.
