Hi,

I would like to start diving and am thinking of taking the PADI OW class. I am living in London and I saw several centres offering OW classes.

Any recommendations as to which centre to go to?

cheers.

Hi Schnuffl,

Where did you do your course in the end? I tried to do mine with Learn to Dive in Wraysbury before I went on holiday. Unfortunately, I had a really bad experience with them. I ended up cancelling after one dive and just did the course in Borneo instead!

Diving is amazing (with the right teacher!). Enjoy!

I have just done my OW with Oyster Diving, who turned out to be a very professional outfit (and talking to students using other schools only confirmed that I was lucky to have randomly stumbled upon them). They teach in pools in Soho or in Richmond, and do the qualifying dives at Wraysbury.

I agree! I would highly recommend www.oysterdiving.com
I just did my PADI referral course with them and really enjoyed it! They are very professional, encouraging and fun!
I would not recommend at all to www.londonscuba.com (which is not even in London!). I tried to get the PADI Referral with them first, but all the students in my course had a very bad experience and none of us finish the course with them, and some said they do not want to continue diving.

I've just completed my confined dives and exam with London School of diving. I've posted about them in my blog at: http://learningtoscuba.blogspot.co.uk

They're very professional and have a 10m long x 3m deep pool.

Its easy - flights are cheap now, get on a plane to Sharm el Sheikh, do your course here and in the crystal clear seas at 28 deg C. Sharks, mantas, dolphins. If you want do your class stuff in UK, or you can even do it on line. Then come out here for some really cool diving you will never forget. And the family / girlfriend can relax on the beach with you or come on the boat - I can sort it all for you. There is no contest
