Hi Everybody,

I am a final year student that is doing a project on diving systems. I am trying to find out some opinions on how people decide on their dives. My main consideration is how do people choose there dive location. The points are just conversation points its not ment to be a questionnare :)

Would you say it is mainly recommedation, accesablilty, adventure, safety, wildlife, interesting wrecks, geography, or anything!

How are you limited by where you go for your dives? What really bugs you about these limitations? Weight of gear, traveling to sites, cost of diving, weather, freedom, knowlege, health and fitness or even your too busy to squeeze them in to your busy schedule!

I would love to hear anything you have to say just add it to the thread!

Thank you,

John Kearns

Accessibility is key - I am not a member of a diving club - so unless I am diving from a boat, I have only my buddy to assist in carrying kit / looking after kit while I park a car etc.

Whilst it would be great to always dive a really interesting site, in many cases to get a dive in you may go for a site instead with easy parking and something nearby for non-diving members of the family to do - in amny cases that encourages a quarry dive like Capernwray or a dive off a beach, than a site with less facilities such as Dosthill or an isolated peninsula with poor walking access.
