Hi all,

I am new to this forum so I look forward to spending some time here!

I stopped diving 4 years ago and just about to start again. I want to buy a whole new kit and wondered the cheapest way of doing it - all it best to buy everything from one retailer or shop around for everything individually??

I was thinking on a dive holiday in April or May so another option would be to buy wherever I go. No idea where in the world would be cheapest for Mares gear though!?

Thanks in advance for any help.

You are probably better not to restrict yourself to one brand, some items, masks in particular, you want to find what's best for you. I tried a Mare's mask once, it was too wide for my face, Cressi too much pressure across my brow, and another that put pressure under my nose. I ended up with an Atomic mask which is perfect for me. You'd do better to shop around and buy the best bit's of kit for what you want to do, rather than tying yourself down for no reason.

Some things are better to get locally, so that you can easily get them repaired or serviced. If you are in the UK then buying on hols may not be such a saving right now. Also if you do buy abroad remember to factor it into your weight allowance.
