I was thinking about buying a HD camcorder and housing. when I looked into the models available, I was impressed by the Sanyo Xacti HD1010. I was just about to head to my local dive store with cash in hand, when thankfully I decided to check on the internet what users had to say about it. I was shocked to find a large number of people saying how their housing had flooded, in many cases at very shallow depths. There is obviously a design fault in the housing. How can the manufacturer have the nerve to sell an inferior product? surely they must have tested it before releasing it for sale. I consider that I have had a very lucky escape. I am now the happy owner of a JVC GZ-HD10. I looked this one up first too and nobody had a bad word to say about it. It's compact, affordable and produces fantastically clear sharp video. This all goes to prove that it really does pay to do your research before making any major purchases.
