Sudden Growth of the Marine Civil engineering Industry
Over the past five years, There appears to have been a spurt of growth; in what was a fringe industry. Marine Civil Engineering.
I currently manage a diving and marine Civil's company in South Wales
Having been in the industry for over twenty years, I am amazed at this sudden boom.
As the credit crunch bites and property development/construction slowly winds down due to lack of funding. this fringe industry appears to be moving in leaps and bounds. Not only in the the UK, but worldwide.
The Persian gulf projects screaming out for experienced marine civil engineers and other marine civil's staff. Money, benefits packages etc.
Australia and others desperate for experienced staff.
The problem! not enough people with marine civil experience.
I put my CV online last week to gauge the response. My email box is swamped, and my Mobile never stops ringing.
With long term diving contracts becoming ever rarer
If any on here are looking to broaden your horizons. you know now where to look.
Civil engineering experience, and qualifications such as NEBOSH and CSCS accreditation are a must however. But combine them with your diving qualifications and you are on the road to success.
