I am looking at booking a southern red sea liveaboard-classed as deep south- in first week of june but i am not the best sailor in the world and have heard that this can be rough seas. Anyone been this time of year at all?

yep. couple of years ago. don't remember it being rough though. it's certainly worse in the winter months.

Hi, June is a good time of year to go south in the Red Sea. I have been a dive guide in the Red Sea for a number of years and this area has great dive sites. My next trip will be on MY Amelia sailing on 30th May 08. The itinerary follows the coast so if the wind does blow (as it can any time of the year!) then it is only a short sailing between protected dive sites.
