Hi All.

Looking at a first computer to help through the AOW and possibly on further. Narrowed it down to a Gekko, Vyper or Cressi Arch2. Can anyone give any comments, advice, passed problems etc?. Is the extra cost of the Vyper/Cressi over the Gekko justifiable?

Any help will be much appricated.

Thanks

if cost is an issue, then i'd suggest the gekko as being the logical choice. it does nitrox so would see you ok for the first part of your diving career. if you were to progress further then i'd guess that whatever computer you bought at this stage (of the 3 listed) you'd upgrade at a later date anyway. iirc the vyper has a dive planning mode, pc interface and also can be used in gauge mode. up to you if the extra 60 is worth it for those features.

me? i can't be arsed downloading a profile to the computer - way to geeky!
gauge mode would be useful for the diving i now do
dive planning mode - you can take or leave it. can't say i've ever used it other than for idle curiosity and seeing how bent you can get the computer.

a good place to start for prices is deepbluediving.com and also give jackie a bell in days (www.daysdiving.co.uk)
