Hi I'm considering a change of career as a commercial diver.I've been reading through this and other forums, and company websites offering training.
I want to ask for your advise on where to train eg:Uk,Souith Africa or America, I know south Africa is much cheaper but how do they compare to each other in terms of quality of training.
I also would like to know if it's worth starting a career in Diving at the ripe old age of 40,or is it a young mans game.

Thanks
Steve

HI THERE. I DO THINK THAT THE BEST TRAINING YOU CAN GET IS IN THE U.K. PARTLY BECAUSE OF THE QUALITY OF INSTRUCTION BUT ALSO BECAUSE OF THE DIVING - THE WATERS OF THE U.K. ARE A TESTING ENVIRONMENT. HOWEVER I HAVE MET AND WORKED WITH S.AFRICAN DIVERS AND THEY WERE EXCELLENT IN THE WATER. COURSES ARE SIGNIFICANTLY CHEAPER THERE AND INCLUDE ACCOMODATION AND FOOD WHICH YOU DONT GET HERE IN THE U.K. COMMERCIAL WORK IS REALLY A YOUNG MANS GAME IN THAT THE YOUNGER YOU ARE THE LONGER CAREER YOU CAN EXPECT TO HAVE AND IT TAKES TIME TO BUILD THE CONTACTS AND TO GAIN THE REQUIRED EXPERIENCE. ANYWAY IF IT IS RIGHT FOR YOU DONT BE PUT OFF. CLAMDIVER
