: Just wondered if there is much diving from sit-on kayaks in and around the UK? If so what sit-ons are people using, what are the problems you are finding, ideas for equipment e.g. anchoring, ways of hitching up a dive flag etc.

I have been kayak diviing in the UK for 25 years. It is popular in abroad, but slow to catch on in the UK. Having been a keen diving and sea kayaker for many years, I combined the two by designing my own dream machine. By request I have started running workshops for Dorset based divers. Until recently I could not recomend a decent production kayak for divers, but I have just tested the latest Ocean Kayak Prowler 15. This kayak tracks well and is resonablly fast. Very stable and great for carring all the kit. I have tested all the main kayaks from Ocean Kayak & Cobra Kayaks. I am sponsered by Cobra with an 18' Expedition. This is the fastest production SOT. I do use it for long distance trips, but I think that a newby would struggle with the stabiliy. I will be lauching a website for UK kayak diving shortly. If you search on "kayak diving" there are some useful US sites. I have my own hard boat, but I can honestly say that I have had some of my best and most relaxing dives of a kayak.
