in a few months i plan to be one of those idiots who spends thousands of pounds to gain my commercial diving tickets. At present im a firefighter but plan to start diving on a part time basis but would like to know if there is much work on the south coast, and yes my grandparents left the money to me .
my grandfather was a diver during the war one of Buster Crab's lot.

I did my part 1 ticket last year and have been working. There's plenty off work if you look for it, naturally. I live in portslade E.sussex. I fucking loved dive school. There is alot of mugs moaning about how shit it is, i even read some post somewhere some guy saying something along the lines of "i'll be happy in my life if i stop one person getting into commercial diving". WHAT A TWATT

Well was somewhat relieved to see your comments. I too have recently qualified at Fort William and was getting rather disillusioned about finding work.I have my part 4 scuba HSE cert and was hoping to try and get some civil work, I too am based on the south coast. Could you give me some ideas on who to contact, have tried sending my CV to some diving contractors but no joy there so far! Thanks Mark.
