Hi

I am off to Sharm El Sheikh on Sunday. This will be my fist diving holiday:) I am looking to see if any of you experienced divers would like to pass on a little bit of knowledge!!

Is there any tips that you could offer me to make my first experiences of diving more pleasureable?

I have just qualified as a PADI OWD.

Cheers

Hello, I don't know how qualified I am to answer your q. as I have been to Sharm twice, but not since I did my OW in April this year. The last time I visited Sharm was with my sister (2 years ago) who had just qualified OW in UK. The sea life is the most fantastic I have ever seen, but the school my sister went with at least seemed very lax, taking newly qual. divers down beyond 25 metres. This didn't really bother her, but having only recently qualified myself, I've felt reassured by both diving schools I have used that they allowed me to dive as qualified and experienced, without trying to rush me. I would have found her experience quite scary and so it might be worth checking before booking, unless- unlike me of course-that doesn't bother you!
That said, I am very jealous of you....Sharm is the only place on earth I have returned to and I would go back tomorrow. It's fabulous!

I'm diving with the Ocean College, and have heard a some good reports about them. I agree with you that dive of 25m could be quite scary, expecially if early on in the week and you have not built up any confidence.

Jo-bob, thanks for the recommendation on Sharm and everybody have spoken to agrees with what you have said!!!

What should I expect to this time of year in Sharm?
