I am new to diving and I went out on my first sea dive on the 27th,(didnt actually go down was seasick) But the group I was diving with all went down with lump hammers cheisls and crow bars. To take things off the wreck if they had time. Is this normal because it seems not quite right just taking things off a wreck and catching lobsters etc. i am being sensitive or should I find someone else to dive with. Because I want to look and preserve what is down there

This isn't really normal. The concept of the major diving schools, is to take nothing, and leave nothing behind either. It is true that if everyone pillages the wrecks and reefs for their own benefit - in 5-10years time there will be nothing left for anyone.
If you are into conservation, you can always consider diving with the Marine Conservation Society, or on a local project such as Seasearch to learn more about the coastal wildlife.
