Sealife DC500 Pro

I really recommend the external flash especialy in UK Irish waters.

I read mixed reporrts about the cam so aftre buying I first took the housing only down to 17 and 25 meters. No problem at all. Last weekend I had my first shooting session

Hi. Just come back from egypt and had bought an Olympus Mju700 with case. After a while getting used to using it and learning a few technical bits, i managed to take some excellent photos. As with all cameras a stobe is need in the future to make them even better. Got from www.camerasunderwater.co.uk. Was about 400 including 1GB ard which took about 300 pics at 7mpix. Very small and compact for when using in day to day situations. (Extra battery would be ideal as tended to run out on third dive, but was extremely snap happy!)

I can agree about the Mju series - I've got one of the old Mju400's (was new back then) and also bought it from camerasunderwater (excellent service) and can take some great photos with it.

I bought an extra battery so always have one in the camera and one charging, plus a couple of extra memory cards so I can click away and sort out the good from the bad later on.

Also bought myself a colour filter for when I'm diving in the Indian Ocean, screws securely onto the front of the housing and, after a bit of trial and error, can help get the colours right.

I find it really easy to flick between still and video mode, even whilst in the housing, underwater, on a night dive, in current, etc...

Would highly recommend any of the Mju series and camerasunderwater.co.uk

I would also like to recommend the Sealife DC500. I had this as a birthday present and was very worried when reading the reviews. But after using it in the Maldives this year, I can say that picture quality was first class, sharp and excellent colour. The video mode was also very good. It took a little time to get used to using the LCD screen, as it is not easy to see in bright sunlight, but once you get the hang of it, it is easy to take some really great photos. I would recommend the wide angle lens also.
