Hello.

I am just about to take my Open Water dives, and once I pass I would like to invest in my own equipment.

I have seen a few packages available from Scubapro and Aqualung, however I want to make sure I do not buy any rubbish.

Could someone suggest some good equipment, or should I just turn up at a dive centre and have a look and get advice?

Chris.

I would have a look www.simplyscuba.com and take a look at their scubapro package for 235. It includes a first stage, second stage, octopus, depth/pressure gauge and carry case i think. I thought that was a good deal for what you pay. And no, I don't work either of the companies mentioned above! : 0

Take a look at the regs on the scubapro website to check they're suitable for cold water diving, i'm sure they are but it wouldn't hurt to check.

Cheers,

Andy

Also, take a look at the buddy commando BCD's. They are great value for money and tried and tested by many people. cost about 265 from www.godive.net
