Hi the best place to dive with seals is the farns, don't look directley at them the best way to get them interested is to do rolls and trist in the water it wont be long befor the seals show you how to do it properly, they can be very playfull

Check out they run regular dives to Seal Island also known as The Western Carracks, this outcrop of rocks is approximately 3 miles west of St Ives, towards Lands End. Here lives a colony of seals that we regularly visit to dive and snorkel with. This makes an excellent second dive with depths of up to 16m and it can be dived at any state of the tide but only in good weather when there is not too much sea swell. The seals are very good fun provide care is taken!! Fantastic opportunity for budding photographers. Also in this area you may see pipefish, dogfish and tope.

Dived the Farnes with Sovereign diving as planned. 5 dives over 2 days. The skipper, Toby also joined in some dives. Have read about the various sites and the need to be careful when to dive and where to dive due to the currents in places. Had 5 excellent dives - loads of playful seals. Wonderful experience. Also dived various wrecks. Timing for arrival at the sites was perfect as there was veirtually no tide on any of the dives. Good briefing on what to find where to go and what to avoid

Stayed at Toby's mum's B & B place which has en-suite rooms - very nice. The place is just up the road from the harbour and there is an excellent pub/restaurant virtually opposite. Toby also runs a dive shop from a nearby indusstial site. He will hire tanks which were 5 each including air fill to 250 bar for 15 litre tanks.

Overall excellent experience from a very helpful and pleasant skipper. Would recommend his boat and accomodation to anyone.

Hi, As previously posted the Farnes is the best area, but not the warmest waters, Another good area is Pembrokeshire in West Wales, the water is much warmer and there is a large population of seals of Skommer Nature Reserve, You could contact West Wales Divers for info or Clubsub on 01933 397606
