I'm looking to buy a new mask and have heard that the Typhoon TM1 mask is a replica of the Tusa Visualator but at a fraction of the cost. The cheapest I can find the Tusa for is 40, where as the Typhoon is 20. The only problem is I haven't heard of the Typhoon brand before and am a bit concerned about the quality of the product. If anyone has any typhoon gear, or any advice on it, it would be welcome.

I have a Typhoon TM2 mask and snorkel set. Has worked flawlessly for me for around 40 dives so far, around half those in UK waters. Can't fault it quality-wise! But as with all masks...make sure it fits! :-)

Thanks for your response, I have also bought a Typhoon TM2 mask and although it fits great it keeps steaming up to the point where I can't use it. Any ideas?

Hi,

I have Typhoon booties for use in the pool with flippers and can't fault the quality.

I've seen mask de-fogging liquid on sale in dive shops - not tried it myself, but may stop you misting up.

Hey Ben most new masks come with a covering on the lens which needs to be removed or it fogs up loads dont know whether you have removed it or not. but that could be your problem. you can by special abbrasives that remove it but toothpaste works just aswell just rub a small amount round the lens then rinse you may need to repeat it up to five times. It worked for my mask hope it helps.
