Hi im off to scarpa in october and im unsure of what kit i will need from what ive read lots of people use twin sets and wings etc i have the money to buy this but what kit is really needed

Hi Gareth, I would think a twin set is needed at Scapa really if you intend to dive the deeper more intact wrecks. There are some shallower ones, but these don't really compare to the deeper ones. Idealy Nitrox would be useful too if you are qualified to use it.

Hi Garath,

I'd agree with Tom that a twin-set is the ideal kit for the deeper wrecks at Scapa Flow, but as a vertern of 12 visits, I can assure you that it is not essential. However what I think IS essential is an independant gas system from your main cylinder, at the very least a 3 litre pony cylinder and valve, and some practice at using it!
You will also need a warm dry-suit, (even in Summer), a good torch and a Delayed SMB should also be packed in addition to your normal diving kit.
