Hi folks!
I'm trying to get to a forum where SOMEONE will actually respond! - So, PLEASE respond !
I'm fairly new to diving.- Started in April & just completed my A.O.W.
I've only done about 3 'real' sea dives ( the rest where in the harbour ) in the U.K.
I've done quite a few dives in the quarries & love it!
I'm bk'd to go to Marsa Alam in April this year.
What can i expect?.........
I'm VERY nervous but also excited about what i'll see.
I'm worried about 'currents' - since a buddy friend has told be how scarey they can be.
I'm going with a group of people but there will only be 2 beginners ( to whom i am hoping to latch on too!).
I WILL be looked after won't i??!
Obviously, at this stage, i've got to think for myself - that's fine. All the actual diving i'm fine & happy about - it's just Currents!!
Anyone else got an attack of nerves - even though they LOVE diving?
Thank you!

hi having been to marsa alam 4 times you are going to love it don't worry about the currents .these dive guides know what there doing and you usually dive with the current if you want you can latch onto the dive guide and you will see that currents are fantastic to dive moving along with hardly a stroke the closest you will ever get to flying you will ever get. it's magical. oh by the way watch out for sharks they love the current too.(only kiddin)

I have been diving there with my sons when they where aged 10,12 and 15.you will have no problems, just think warm water, excellent viz and plenty of experienced divers around you.they will not take you to somewhere that you would not be comfortable with, you just tell the operator that you are a bit inexperianced (but they will know when they check your dive log) and they will put you on a suitable dive.you are a bit nervous but that will disappear as soon as you go underwater, RELAX!!

I'm working in Marsa Alam now for 3 years.
Marsa Alam is the best place who fit all levels of divers, there you can find the easy shalow dive sites and the drop off's.
I'm sure you will love it and this will not be your last time there.
I have guests coming to dive with me there 4 times every year.
wish you a nice holiday.
