Hi I have been told that some dive schools (other agences) have been telling people that the BSAC is on its way out Sorry Lads but the BSAC is still the governing body for diving in the UK and also still the biggest club in the world, also you may wish us to dissapear but BSAC is here to stay and is still the best a round. Hi as far as I aware BSAC is down to 38,000 members compaired to about 5 years ago when there were around 45,000 - 50,000 members, yes there are a big club but I will think you will find CMAS is one off the biggest clubs in the world if not the biggest.BSAC/SAA/PADI/TDI/SDI/CMAS/ITDA Diver.

38,000 is still quite a few. Anyway, CMAS is actually an overseeing body of all the national federations, rather than a sinlge club

hi all
im glad ive found this site
ive been doing my open water with BSAC and know im qualified,
i went to cancun in mexico and the local dive centre did not recoganized BSAC, so i had to do a PADI course so i could have a dive
well i dont mind i did it in just over a day and that included 4 dives.
so know ive got the best of both clubs, but going back to the question ive been abroad a few times know and its all PADI clubs
regards

Hi Mark, what dive centre in Cancun was this?

I have done a lot of reasearch on the subject of BSAC Qualifications not being recognised and this is the first time i have seen somewhere not recognise them.

Had you completed OD?

What diving course did you do in a day?

Was this adventure divers or something like that?
