Hi there,

Well the answer is yes but not recomended as if your mask floods and closing your eyes presents then ends up with problems with the lens then your in a bit of a jam and that could be very dangerous.

I know the masks can be expensive, but don't do the cheap option of wearing your lenses. my advice is if you want to save up for the mask then you can get lenses that stick to the inside glass of the mask - so you end up with a sort of bi-focal type of mask arrangement, these are considerably cheaper than the prescription masks - I know of several instructors who went for that option as they had a very minor reading need for glasses/lenses and hence that worked for them..

Do remember that the water you are normally diving in - beit lakes or the sea are heavily laden with bacteria and other protozoic life hence lens cleanliness would also be key to prevent infections of the eye...

hope the answer helps,

cheers Andrew
