Thanks for the query.
To those who are reading this for educational purposes, bisoprolol is an example of a class of drugs called beta blockers, which are prescribed for a variety of conditions (eg. high blood pressure, following a heart attack). They have 2 effects which can be detrimental to diving safety: they slow down the heart rate, limiting exercise capacity, and they can induce lung constriction. The extent to which these effects occur depend on the individual, and the dose, so it is always unwise to make sweeping generalisations (such as bisoprolol automatically excluding recreational diving).
Of course, the other aspect to queries of this nature is, what condition is the drug being prescribed for? This is often more relevant than the drug itself. So what appears to be a simple question, inviting a "yes/no" response, is anything but!
