How soon can he return to diving ?
My Husband has recently had a disc decompression (L4/5) and a wallis spacer inserted. He is recovering well. Given no complications how long should he refrain from diving.
Thanks

Hi there

Recovery from these sorts of procedures is usually fairly quick, within 2-3 weeks or so. However, lugging heavy wet dive kit about does put a lot of strain on the lower back, so I tend to be a bit more conservative as you don't want to injure an already weakened area again. 6 weeks or so and a graded return to diving should suffice.

Kind regards
