i have epilepsy it is medicinally controlled and i havent had i fit in nearly 4 years, i have been to my local g.p and i keep getting conflicting advice, one says i can dive another says i cant, i am hoping you could clear this up for me as i go to egypt in august and want to dive there.
the medication is lamotrigine and i have 250mg daily other than that i am in good health.

Unfortunately the current rules are that you should not go diving with epilepsy. The only circumstances in which it would be permissible is if you have been fit free for 5 years OFF ALL MEDICATION. The consequences of fitting underwater are usually fatal so it is not a risk worth taking, in my view. I suggest you stick to above water pursuits in Egypt - there are still plenty of things to do there!
