Will I need the medical?
I am just filling out my R.S.T.C. Medical Statement to determine whether I will need to have a medical before starting the practical area of my PADI OW course and wondered on a couple of points, I can't get hold of my local Scuba Doc at present which is kinda holding me up!!

Two section which I have to answer yes to are,

1) Presently Taking Prescription Drugs = which is a simple non-drowzy pain relief for a shoulder injury, CODIPAR 15/500, which I can go without if it means I can't dive. The injury itself doesn't overly restrict me and the pain is actually reduced under resistance.

2) Hernia = I had a hernia about 3 years ago, had the op and haven't had any trouble since.

Do you think they will insist on me having the medical?

Thanks

Hi
The medication should not be a problem as long as it doesn't give you any side effects, and as for the hernia, if the repair was successful then there is no additional risk from diving. I would have thought you wouldn't need a medical for these concerns.
