Dear Doc.
I am 57, fifteen stone, five foot eleven and in good health; I dive all year round in the UK and abroad occasionally. My problem is my knees - in the UK towards the end of a dive I frequently have severe pain at the back of my knees after 30-40 minutes; in warmer waters abroad the pain is less but I have encountered cramp in my calf muscles after 50-60minutes. I have tried elasticised support bandage and also split fins to no avail. Do I reluctantly grow old gracefully and limit my diving activities or can you recommend something else for me to try?

New knees.!!
Dont worry,
if this is only related to diving, then it must be an ergonomic thing,
but if you get aching knees on walking running etc it must be a rheumatolgy thing, so see one of them.
If its in water only then best see if you can share finning from the knee and the hip to reduce the formers pain.
Or get a DPV.
