Jules,

I am an advanced PADI qualified diver and have completed 50+ dives. In September last year I had a Caroitid Artery Dissection caused by a whiplash injury sustained on a fast ride in a Florida Theme Park. This in turn resulted in a mild stroke. I met with a neurologist who commissioned a whole battery of tests including MRI and heart scans. I subsequently received the all clear.
Can you please advise whether I should be able to scuba dive on a holiday this April.

Thank you,

Paul

If this was caused traumatically, but now back to normal, then you would bo ok, as long as there were no other pre-disposing factors left untreated, eg atherosclerosis, or high BP.
However if there are any symptoms left, then you need to be seen by a dive doc.
