Hi my names Jordan, I'm 23 years old and I am extremely interested in becoming a commercial diver.
From a young age I have always been a hands on and technically minded person. At school I achieved a Distinction in Engineering and a B in Art and Design. After I undertook an Aircraft Maintenance apprenticeship which gave me various level 2 and 3 Aeronautical Engineering qualifications as well as gaining technical skills and experience in aircraft maintenance. After a pursued a childhood ambition to join the RAF, however due to injury I was medically discharged but now I'm fully fit and recovered. Since the RAF I have undertaken a welding and fabrication apprenticeship which I'm due to finish at the end of this year.
my questions are, have you had students in the past with a similar background as me? and with my experience/ background, after attending a premiere diving course for example, would It put me in a good position to get that all important first job?

look forward to hearing from you

Many thanks

Jordan Sanderson

From your email it sounds like you already have lots of relevant experience and skills. Your welding and fabrication apprenticeship will provide an extra boost to your CV, and these, along with HSE Commercial Diver certificates, would be beneficial to offer any prospective employer. We have had students with similar experiences train with us and have found that diving contractors always look for evidence of practical skills and it sound like you have plenty already.
