Hi there Ive was in the Royal Navy for just over 2 years, but came out due to severe depression whilst I was in I gained an NVQ leavel 2 in engineering, I'm still undergoing treatment but when I get better I am considering a career in diving. But I am worried that my health and leaving the Navy will hold me back from getting into the industry what do you think I should do?

To work as a commercial diver you have to pass an annual HSE Diving Medical, so the best thing to do is talk to a doctor that is qualified to do the HSE Diving Medical, they should be able to advise you if you're likely to come up against any problems or not. If you go to the links page on The Underwater Centre website you'll find full details of approved medical practitioners there.
