The first was a V/W class destroyer built by Swan Hunter and launched on 15/12/1917. Sunk 5/7/1940 by U 34 south west of Ireland : Has anyone got any information on either of the two HMS Whirlwinds?? If they have could you please e-mail me.

The second was also a destroyer 1,710tons, 339.5' x 36'. Four 4.7inch guns, five 40mm guns and 8 torpedo tubes. built by Hawthorn Leslie and launched on 30/8/1943. Converted to frigate 1953
